Firstly, I'm not implementing pingback on its own, but as part of a content
management system that requires XML for other stuff too (RSS generation is
the most obvious), but that isn't strictly relevant.
Secondly, correct me if I'm wrong but surely sending an XML-RPC call requires
XML support for generating the body of the XML-RPC message?
