Greyscale Issue 3, 6th May 1999 Contents: Editorial News Letters Story End Editorial: Ladies and Gentlemen, The new issue of Greyscale. As will be reported in the news, Greyscale's web-site has had a face-lift, and a new URL. So, what do you think? Personally I quite like it, but then again I designed it. And if it proves those doubters who suggest that FRAMES=BAD are wrong, then so be it. Are there any ways it could be improved? If you think so, write me at greyscale@aquarion.freeserve.co.uk. What the hell, write me anyway. The deadline sorta crept up on me this time, so forgive any gramatical inconsistanys or any spelling mistakes. On another note, My exams are comming up soon, so the next issue of greyscale will either be a day or 5 early or a week or so late, Wish me luck! - Aquarion News: News? You want news? If not, then go to www.real.com first. In other news, http://www.Gamespot.com has a new preview of Black & White up. And I would give you the URL, only I've kinda lost it. sorry! Worry not however! http://www.bwwire.com has a link, So go there and see it. Letters: Thank you to all the people who responded to my little plea last issue. Both of you. Subject: Anagramiticals *sniped entry for Storytime* Just for fun, I've let "black and white" be anagrammed, you know, mix the letters up: Rearranging the letters of 'Black and White' gives: It includes several nice ones... Black-and-white. Bad, ethnic walk. Liken bad watch. Thicken bad law. New chalk bad it. Bad wealth nick. Bad law kitchen. Walked in batch. What blind cake. What kind cable. Win Black death. Witch bad ankle. Watchable kind. Bad chew in talk. Witch and bleak. Wet in bad chalk. (*snip*-ed) (I thought such anagram software would be pretty cool to invent names for games, characters, etc... You can find all of this on www.anagramgenius.com/server.html ) Bye now, and good luck on the game!!!!!!! Greetings Jelle Spruyt Aquarion: I'm afraid I had to cut your anagrams down a bit, For any one who is vaguly interested in the rest of them, you can see the rest at http://www.blacknwhite.net/grey/anagrams.html. Subject:Trip to see the Lion Hello, thanks for this newsletter, I understand you do not like it if you do not get any stories etc... I will take a a look and if I have time I will write a story. btw, I will go to Lionhead next week from 1st May - 8th May, and then I'll have much news, maybe some adds for your newsletter (but I'm not sure!). I will also go to BAFTA 2, and after my visit (in June) I'll have a movie about Lionhead. Maybe you can add this to your newsletter? Well, I'll have a report when I'm back so.... thanks and best regards Sam Van Tilburgh head-webmaster/ director Games Feedback Aquarion:That sounds like a deal. As soon as Sam brings his report back, Greyscale Readers will be the First to know. After Gamesfeedbackers of course. subject: Fonts Hi, The new web-site looks really nice & I think it's quite improved, so is the lay-out. The only problem I found, are the hyperlinx "Editorial", "News", etc. These are the links in Arial ,on the left of the screen, which is strange because of the other links are in Handwriting fonts. But everything else works... I was also very surprised when I saw my (alternative) story in "Storytime". I thought, WOW I'm on the net, u know? ***Just btw, my name is Jelle Spruyt and not Spurt :) like it says in storytime... I'll also try to follow the story as much as possible, so I'll try to make up the rest of the story whenever I can. I think that story-idea really rocks !!! Greetings JS Aquarion: Sorry about the spelling thing, It's fixed now. The reason the Editorial & Stuff are in Ariel is because you don't have the Mistral font, when you do it works. Thanks for that though, For anybody who wants to see the site as It's meant to be (i.e anyone without the Mistral font) Go to the web-page and Click here and save it in your windows/fonts directory. Mac Users though I cannot help. If any Mac users know of a font that Mac's have that looks similer, e-mail me at Grayscale@Aquarion.freeserve.co.uk and say what it's called so I can make the site use it. Glad you like the Story thing, and I'm sorry you didn't win this time, Keep trying! Subject:Rocks new site rocks m8 nice one! Peter Lovell ----- Director Borderline Studios http://www.planethalflife.com/borderline/ Half Life's greatest mod team ----- Webmaster/Founder The Land Of Eden http://www.blacknwhite.net Aquarion: See? Proof. If you haven't seen it, Go do so at http://www.blacknwhite.net/grey. Now. Storytime YAY!!! I had two whole entries this week! I'm dead chuffed I am. The winner this week was Gamesfeedback's Sam with this: The Story So Far:Bob, a humble woodcutter has just been startled by a person in a grey robe Bob never liked the help of others; some of them were bandits, or even assasins. In the old days everything was peacefull, but since the rumours came about this 'large house on the edge of the world' and since more and more people got the feeling of being watched they became criminals. Things weren't no longer as peacefull as they used to be. The stranger asked again "Would you like some help?". Bob wasn't sure, so he asked "Who is asking this?" The traveler didn't answer, only laughing filled the air. Bob got really scared, the person started laughing harder and harder, and suddenly the sky turned black. A really big storm came; rain, wind, and the scaring sound of demonic laughing... Bob returned to his house as fast as possible. The village roads were empty, everyone was scared and ran into their houses. So did Bob. His little dog bobo tried to hide under the table, and Bob lit the fireplace. He took a bottle of wine and waited for the storm to stop. He thought about the stranger in the forest. "Who was he? Why was he laughing?" Suddenly he noticed he forgot his axe in the forest. He took his cloak, and left the house. The sky was black, and it was really dark now. The rain was falling down, and the wind was blowing hard. Suddenly a huge hand came out of the clouds, lifted up the roof of his house and he could hear his doggy bobo scream. When he returned to his house bobo and the hand were gone... THE END.... so far.... Woo. An evil magiction. For those of you curious to see the other entries, or anybody who wants to read the previous stories Go to Http://www.blacknwhite.net/grey/index.html.
