The Story of Civilization.

Once upon a time, In a land where men were men, women were women and anyone who told you they had a joystick would get you nought but a funny look was a board game. It was called Civilization, And Sid Meier played and enjoyed this game, and created a game based on it. It was Civilizaion. The rest is gaming history. It is good. It was the game voted to take the most out of your social life.

A Screen Shot

This was inaccurate.

This game lost you your social life.

And then, back in the depths of 1993, Microprose published the sequal, With the imagintive name of Civilization II. It was also very populer and was still winning awards in 1997, 4 Years later.

Then NO Disaster struck. Sid Meier, The person responsible for these games, Left Microprose, and the rights to any future Civilization Based Games!

Just to prove how good Civs 1&2 were, there are now 3 companys working on "intelectual sequals" to them. Microprose, who owns the rights to the Civ series, are making a game called Civ III. The official sequal. Acitivison bought up the rights to the original board game and, after a legal battle with Microprose, are producing a Licenced version of Civ called Civilization: Call To Power. Sid has not been idle. He is producing a totally unrealted turn based god/stratagy game called Alpha Centurari. Which is nice.

Stop the presses!! As of Chritmas Eve the Demo of AC has been released! Those who have the time/money for 19mb downloads should Visit the official Site
